专利摘要:
Portable therapeutic device for the treatment of arthritis by magneto-thermal stimulation. The invention relates to a portable device for the treatment of arthritis by magneto-thermal stimulation. The device comprises a glove (1) with several housings (15) for the fingers of a user's hand, wherein at least one of said housings (15) incorporates a pair of coils (2, 2 ') for magnetic stimulation ( 1) of the joints of a user's finger, and a heating element (3) for the thermal stimulation of said joints. An electronic generator circuit (5) feeds the pair of coils (2, 2 ') and the heating element (3) from a battery (8), and can generate and control the magnetic and thermal stimulation in independent ways. Magnetothermal therapy takes advantage of pulsed electromagnetic fields in the regeneration of connective tissue; and tissue heating to mitigate the pain caused by inflammation. In addition, by increasing blood flow and the release of certain molecules, the joint use of both therapies results in a general improvement of the disease.
The magnetic field is generated from a pulsed voltage in direct current (DC). The pulsed magnetic field has a range of intensities ranging from a few micro Teslas to a maximum of 3.5 milli Teslas; while the frequency can be set in a range between 3Hz and up to a maximum of 75Hz.
To obtain the effects discussed above, the present invention relates to a portable device for the treatment of arthritis by magneto-thermal stimulation, comprising a glove with several housings for the fingers of a user's hand, so that at least one of said housings incorporates a pair of coils connected to each other, for the magnetic stimulation (1) of the joints of a user's finger, and a heating element for the thermal stimulation of said joints.
The device also comprises an electric power source, and an electronic generator circuit connected to the pair of coils and the heating element for its power supply in a controlled manner to produce magneto-thermal stimulation.
The generator circuit is composed of a microcontroller that adjusts the frequency for the pulsed electromagnetic field, this signal is amplified in a power circuit and from there it goes to the magnetic stimulators. The thermal stimulation is also controlled through the microcontroller, once the predetermined temperature has been reached, the temperature sensors on the fingers allow this value to be fed back to the microcontroller to keep it fixed. A power circuit connected to the microcontroller is used for thermal stimulation.
DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES
Figure 1 shows a schematic representation of a preferred embodiment of the device of the invention.

The geometry chosen for assembly is about small radius Helmhotz coils similar to rings. This geometry is the one that offers a more homogeneous magnetic field mainly in the axis that crosses the center of the ring.
5 The current flowing through the PEM field generating coils can be adjusted so that the intensity of the magnetic field can be precisely controlled.
Figure 5 shows the heating element (3) formed by coils connected to each other that have the same number of turns but are placed in opposite directions, with
10 object of canceling the electromagnetic field generated by the heating element. The arrows in Figure 5 indicate that the number of turns rolled in one direction and the same number of turns rolled in the opposite direction.
According to a preferred embodiment, the material with which the glove (1) is made must be semi-rigid, relatively elastic and without deformation.
Inside the glove, in an intermediate layer, the heating element (3) is placed, this is also formed by coils of a conductive element
20 The coils for magnetic stimulation and heating elements for thermal stimulation can be connected in series or in parallel. The advantage of a preferred embodiment in series, is that the current that flows all through all the elements is the same, so that the control is easier to achieve, in addition, less temperature sensors are required to control thermal stimulation.
